Collective Fall Clothes Haul!

Fall has hit, the weather has started to get colder, and I’ve sadly come down with a bug–the shopping bug. I’m serious, I have a problem. One that has lead me build my wardrobe to suit all the lovely fall trends. (Yay inner monologue justification!) All the burgundy, faux leather  and neutral items had me lusting from afar and my restrain has finally collapsed. Here is the fruits of the previous month’s purchases 🙂

1Hi-Lo Sweater Knit Top $18 at Old Navy | Hammered Metal Long Necklace $9.99 at Old Navy
2Sweater Knit Infinity Scarf $10 at Old Navy | Faux Leather Trim Ponte Leggings $30 at Old Navy
3 I absolutely love the faux leather detail on this. I think it makes the leggings edgier…and makes me feel like I should be riding on the back of Danny Zuko’s motorcycle.
5Faux Leather A-Line Skirt at Old Navy (No longer available online) | Navy Polka Dot Tights $8 at Old Navy | Black Diamond Patterned Tights $9 at Old Navy
7I’m falling in love with patterned tights! I think they’re a cute way to class up an outfit and make it a little more bold.

I was really surprised with how many cute pieces were at Old Navy this season! A lot of the faux leather ones specifically caught my eye, as you can see. I’ve already worn a couple of these pieces a few times now and can honestly say I think they will be frequently seen on me this fall! Oh and of course I got these all at 40% off during the stuff and save event Old Navy periodically has (the prices above are the ones listed on oldnavy.com, not the discounted prices I received) so of course I went a little crazy snatching up the pieces I loved!

4Merona Cardigan Sweater $27.99 at Target | Mossimo V Neck Dress $24.99 at Target
6Merona Vintage Tee $10 at Target | Mossimo Ona Scrunch Ballet Flat $12 at Target
9Navy Triangle Print A-Line Skirt at Target (no longer available online)

What can I say? Target will always be a weakness of mine. I got a lot of comfort based clothes this go around–ones that were cute but I could throw on and feel relaxed in. Though I have paired the dress, skirt and flats with different pieces that have dressed them up. I love the patterns and clearly burgundy is my thing this fall.

12Sam Edelman Laredo Suede Booties $140 at Lord & Taylor
8I ADORE these booties. I love the taupe color, the details, and the suede. Sam Edleman is slowly becoming my favorite shoe designer ❤

I mean, what’s fall without some cute boots? This season I am absolutely bootie crazy…I’ve got 3 pairs and counting…And it doesn’t help that Lord & Taylor has had killer shoe sales recently–they’ve been having a shoe of the day sale almost everyday for the past month! (Thus is what convinced me to get the cute boots above!)

10Erica Anenberg Camel Tribeca Hobo Handbag (No longer available on Nordstrom Rack) | Vince Camuto Rose Gold Tone Watch (No longer Available on Nordstrom Rack)
11I love that this watch tells more than just the time–the day of the week and month are both on there. Also the detailing is so cute!

Okay so this was my biggest splurge for the season (so far…) and probably my happiest of purchases. I’ve been dying for a new bag and specifically one lighter than I had (the one I have been using has been so heavy lately, I needed a break!) and this one fit the bill! It fits perfectly under my arm and is super light! Plus it fits way more than I thought initially! It really is quite a lovely bag. As for the watch…I’ve been oogling all thing rose gold, so when I saw this–I jumped at the sale! It’s such a classy statement piece, I’ve been wearing it obsessively.

So that is all my wallet shaming purchases as of late! I will be trying my best to practice restrain in the land of shopping during these coming months (but I’m not sure of my success since it will be the holidays very, very soon) so while I do that, what have you been snatching from the stores? (Help me soothe my buyers soul by showing me your own hauls!) Or if not buying, what have you been lusting over from afar? Share with me your shopoholic ways! Haha

Until next time!

Sample Sale: Baublebar Summer 2014

One of the glorious things I learned about whilst working in NYC are a beautiful thing called SAMPLE SALES. For those of you who don’t know what Sample Sales are, they are magical rooms filled with an array of discounted merchandise from your favorite designers–usually one designer per sample sale. (Okay so maybe it’s not so much a magical room, but a stuffy factory-like one with prop up tables and racks spilling with goods that women/men scavenge like buzzards… But the cheap goods are tres manifique and make the pound you sweat off digging through things so worth it!) And if you have expensive taste without the purse to back it up, these sales are your BFFs. I stalk all the sales I want to go to through Racked, 260SAMPLESALE, and via @samplesally on twitter–Oh yes, I got that scene on lock down. So you can imagine my delight when I stalked read an article on Racked about Baublebar‘s sample sale and how to get in early. UMMM, YES PLEASE.

The following are images of the Baublebar Sample Sale event. Note: photos may appear blurry—this is because I was part distracted with overwhelming glee from looking at all the goods and part distracted by trying not to run into the hordes of young ladies looking for their perfect baubles.

So I didn’t even get to take a good photo of the room–which had tons of tables with trays on trays of rings, bracelets, and necklaces as well as lots of mirrors to see your scores on as well as a cash station/bag check. But the whole scene basically went like this. You enter the factory like room (which was way too hot with so many bodies rushing around–the poor employees running it!), grab a tray and roam amongst the tables of goods. Each table had a specific item on it at a certain range of prices. Rings were generally $5-10. Bracelets/Bangles were $5-15. Earrings were $5-20. And Necklaces were priced at $10, $12, $15, $20 and $25.

Basically, everything was SUPER reasonably priced and so cute. The hardest part was not getting too overwhelmed by all the cute baubles and finally telling yourself to stop. (It was tough, believe me!) I ended up with a decent score of  a nice statement collar, 2 pairs of studs, and a cute arrow bangle. (I also got a couple of gifts for friends that I don’t want to show as it might ruin the surprise…sorry, but I had to share how crazy I truly went at this sale!)

I have since worn all these items a couple of times. They’re so cute!!

5

This color is a little geometric–which I love right now, but also pretty girly and sparkly. Which is what I went to the sale really hoping to find since I wanted something to spice up some of my more plain tops. I think it really does the job well!

This arrow bangle actually pairs really well with a couple of wrap bracelets I have and also my alex and anis. I love it!

7

Sometimes I find that I just want to wear a fun pair of studs instead of dangly earrings. These are actually the perfect size–not to big, but still noticeable enough to spice things up. I think they make any look really cool. The white ones I find work well in both a classic manner and an edgy one.

All in all, I thought it was a great sample sale. Great selection, great prices, helpful staff, a decent space (even if it was a little hot) and I ended up with a great purchase! Overall, success!!

Do you love baublebar? What are some of your favorite pieces? What other stores/online brands are you shopping? Lemme know!

As always, dear readers, happy shopping!

Spring Haul: Old Navy, H&M, & Francesca’s Closet!

April Showers bring….clothing hauls? I don’t know about you all, but when the sun is out and I finally awaken from my winter hibernation state of mind, I feel the need to shop! (Especially at the nearby strip mall so I can get that healthy dose of shine while peeking my head in the windows.) I definitely got spring fever this weekend and my wallet started to feel the heat, lemme tell you.

First Stop: H & M

HM1

2 for $10 black camis, black floral chiffon tank $14.95, light pink floral scarf $6.95

I am in LOVE with pastel/light colors and flower prints this season (though let’s be honest, who isn’t?) and, lucky for me, they’re everywhere!! I pretty much flocked to anything light and flowery in H&M, but I also got sidetracked by the end of season sweater deals! There was a whole rack of sweaters for just $15 each! Naturally, I had to try on a bunch, but don’t worry–I restrained myself and stuck with this nice loose knit light brown one. (I convinced myself that since its loose knit I could still wear it on cool summer nights…seems legit, right?)

HM2

Loose knit tan sweather $15, cut out light brown flats $15 (I think), navy swimsuit top $17.95

The swimsuits at H&M also caught my eye this year. I was pretty impressed they had tops that actually had something for girls with…bigger girls up top–if you know what I mean. I ended up with a basic navy sweetheart top that fit great and I can match with anything. Oh and I also got the cutest pair of cutout flats that are so comfy!! (They run a little loose though, so if you see them, be warned!)

Second Stop: Francesca’s Collection

FC

Hoopish gold earrings $14, silver drop earrings $12, cloverish gold earrings $9

One of my FAV shops lately has been Francesca’s Collection (am I the only one who wants to call it Francesca’s Closet? Was that its original name or am I just imagining that?) because they have become the source of my jewelry addiction. I physically have to stop myself from going in there and buying more. Don’t get my wrong, I lovelovelove their clothes, home goods, and handbags, but that sparkle is the first thing you see!! Needless to say, when I saw they had a buy 2, get one free deal–I pounced.

(I seriously have such a problem, I had to buy this jewelry organizer at Charming Charlies to sort out my stuff.)

 Third Stop: Old Navy

Old Navy

Peach lace tank top $5, tan patterned maxi skirt $29, striped swim bottoms $15, and flowered swim bottoms $10

Now, Old Navy is notoriously a hit or miss store for me. I either want ALL THE THINGS or none of them. But it was actually on trend when I went. I ravaged the swim section for cute bright bottoms, happened upon the cutest neutral maxi skirt that is going to become a summer staple in my wardrobe, got “motivational” work out gear, and hit up their 70% off rack for the peach tank top! ($5 steal!!)

Purple running tank $12, black running jacket $32

Purple running tank $12, black running jacket $32

Don’t Forget! VS Last Day

VC

Card could be anywhere from $10 to $500 off your purchase!

I recently went through an overhaul of my undergarments and changed up my collection which caused me to attain a couple of “secret reward” cards. They all were usable this month so I of course had to treat myself to some fashionable spring items! I just wanted to remind all you shopaholics that if you have those cards, they expire today! (4/29) So use them while you can!My current VS addiction: the bright flowered boyfriend bras and Pink panties in neon colors!

So that was my spending massacre! I am finally feeling a little ready for spring and am loving all the new bright additions to my closet! How about you? What are you excited to wear this spring? What trends are you loving?
